If you just VMWare Workstation 9.0.x you might have seen that VMWare removed the Shrink option from the VMWare Tools icon in the menubar which included the shrink option. So how to shrink now a guest system?
Not sure why VMWare removed the shrink menu option but on a Windows OS you can still use a comandbox (CMD) to perform a shrink. Here are the steps for that:
1.) Open a comand prompt on your guest system
2.) Navigate to your VMWare Folder (often c:\program files\vmware\vmware tools\)
cd "c:\program files\vmware\vmware tools\"
3.) Start the shrink process via
vmwaretoolboxcmd.exe disk shrink c:\
