Issue: You try to switch from Windows Updates to Microsoft Updates on Windows 7 or Windows 2008 (Windows 2008 R2). To do that you open Windows Updates and click on “Get updates for other Microsoft products. Find out more.” The Microsoft Internet Explorer will open but only redirect to a Microsoft website which shows only the information that you should use the star menu as seen below:

Solution:
To fix the issue you need to add *.microsoft.com and *.windowsupdates.com to the trusted sites in the IE. Additional to that add microsoft.com under the compatibility view settings in the internet explorer. After that try again to switch from Windows Updates to Microsoft updates.
